2006 ANDA 8 coin uncirculated coin set SPECIAL RELEASE 40 years of decimal currency

Brand New in original packaging from the Royal Australian Mint.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of decimalisation, the Royal Australian Mint has released this special limited edition 2006 Mint Set in February at the Berlin World Money Fair. Featuring the World Money Fair Show overprint with just 1,500 being released. 

Celebrating Australia’s unique heritage, the set includes 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, $1, and $2 coins. Unlike the Proof Set, which features a round 50c coin (for the first time since 1966), this set offers the 50 cent coin in dodecagonal form.

The One and Two cent bronze coins are featured in this mint set for the first time since 1991 when they were removed from Australian circulating coins. The designs on the 2006 coins are the original 1966 designs representing the Australian Fauna and celebrate the 40 years of Australian decimal currency. The 2006 One cent and Two cent peices were not released for general circulation and can only be obtained in the 2006 mint sets.

Definitely a set for any collector.
